City cocktails

Montreal:
3cl Canadian whiskey
2-2.5cl applejack (or, in a pinch, apple brandy or Calvados)
1.5 cl yellow Chartreuse
juice of 1/8-1/6 lemon
splash of Maraschino juice (or liqueur)
bitters

Shake; garnish with burnt orange or lemon.

San Francisco:
1 1/2 oz. Bourbon (ideally charcoal-y *and* vanilla-y)
1/4 oz. Fernet Branca
1/2 oz. Campari
1/2 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1/2 oz. Gin (“New Western”, e.g., Aviation or New Amsterdam)

Shake; garnish with a cherry and, ideally, a burnt orange garnish.
